A.B.O. Comix Zine Series #2: The Invention Edition
Welcome to A.B.O. Comix's second theme-driven zine. If you're late to the game (i.e. you just thought "huh that's weird, I thought there was only this one,") the inaugural issue found its foundation on ruminations on mastications. And that is to say that it was about the glory and beautiful catastrophe that is food!
This one's a different flavor - it's about the raw power of invention. It's a celebration of creators and DIY hacks, of ingenuity, brainpower and resourcefulness. It's proof that great minds think alike but maybe sometimes also think completely different as well. It's about heating up your water with an electrified pair of fingernail clippers and building yourself a pacifier out of a deodorant top. It's about building a pair of speakers and then dancing to the music you've amplified. It's a resource guide and a starting place and a reminder that sometimes a little bit of brain juice and elbow grease can go a long way.
This zine features contributions by more than 60 currently-incarcerated LGBTQ+, HIV+ and allied people. All proceeds are donated to our artists and contributors in prison.
