Anthology Release + Holiday Party: 12/18/21, 6pm-10pm
411 26th St, Oakland

Our 5th anthology of comix + art by queer prisoners is here! Celebrate with a holiday-themed art show, local vendors, drinks + live music at Classic Cars West!

We've been hard at work putting together this year's anthology of comix and art by LGBTQ+ prisoners for our fifth year in a row! Come feast your eyes on copies fresh from the printer against the backdrop of a holiday-themed art show by our incarcerated contributors.

While you're here, enjoy DJ sets and performances by local bands, as well as an art market featuring more than ten Bay Area vendors! There will also be handmade leatherwork and jewelry made by incarcerated artists available for purchase, with profits going back to the artists or their families.

Get your holiday shopping done while supporting our volunteer-fueled, punk DIY abolitionist organization! Learn more about the artists we support and how to get involved with prisoner advocacy, and help us meet our end-of-year fundraising goal for donations to our contributors' commissary funds. Can't wait to see you!

Holiday Commissary Fundraiser 2021: LIVE!

Our yearly effort to send holiday bonuses to LGBTQ and HIV+ incarcerated artists who contributed pieces to our most recent edition of A Queer Prisoner's Comix Anthology is on!!

We have a goal of raising $5000 by the end of November; this amount helps us cover a $100 bonus to each individual contributor, all the administrative fees charged by various prison facilities to send $$ inside, and some outstanding office expenses to keep A.B.O. HQ running into 2022.

Donating and sharing the fundraiser keeps our one-of-a kind project alive; thank you so much for your support!

A.B.O. Comix: A Queer Prisoner's Anthology Volume 4 is available now! The fourth volume of our comic book series features stories created by over 50 queer and trans prisoners that details life on the inside. This 374 page, full color magnum opus features comics and art from many of our Edition 1-3 contributors, as well as a ton of new artists.

The A.B.O Comix anthology is a raw, authentic look into prison life from a queer perspective. This book features accomplished cartoonists and first time doodlers in an effort to amplify the voices of all LGBTQ prisoners we are able. Proceeds from this anthology go back to the contributors so that they can access commissary & gender affirming items, healthcare and legal support.

Confined Before COVID19: A Pandemic Anthology by Queer Prisoners features comics, artwork, poetry and short stories about how the pandemic is affecting people inside prisons nationwide.

We took submissions through the month of April and compiled the book in May 2020. You can now get your copy asap!

Sales of this anthology will help purchase emergency hygiene and sanitary supplies for LGBTQ people experiencing incarceration.

emergency fundraiser for jeferson

We just launched a new fundraiser for our friend, Jeferson, who has been a contributor of ours since 2017. Jeferson spent 25 years in a United States Prison and was deported to Brazil shortly after he was released. He is now struggling to not only sustain himself, but also help those around him as he battles the dire conditions of COVID-19 in a country that has over 1.64 million confirmed cases. Putting the needs of his neighbors above his own, Jeferson wrote to us saying that "this is a time of solidarity and caring and sharing with the less favored ones."

Please help us raise funds for Jeferson and his support system by checking out our new GoFundMe Fundraiser.
